PROJECT OVERVIEW
I worked with the team at Mann Made to create this interactive journey through Johannesburg celebrating the life and art of internationally acclaimed South African artist and activist, David Koloane.
Using AI image technology, we reimagined important landmarks in the artist’s signature style - bringing to life the artist's daily walk to his studio.
CONCEPT
Visitors follow David Koloane's daily walk from his home in Hillbrow to his studio in Fordsburg, discovering people and places that feature in his work.
Using simple scroll-to-move navigation, the visitor explores animated maps and 3D environments that reveal Koloane's most important artworks.
We used AI image technology to create textures for the 3D environments based on David Koloane's paintings.
